Samuel Parris (born 1653, London, England – died February 27, 1720, Sudbury, Massachusetts) was the Puritan minister in Salem Village, Massachusetts, during the Salem witch trials. He was also the father of one of the afflicted girls, and the uncle of another. During the witchcraft controversy. His preaching shaped the village's interpretation of the "afflictions."
